Never been a huge shimmy fan. I feel like you can get just as much for your money with Daiwa reels. I have owned a few toriums which were good to me. However the majority of my reels are Daiwa. My saltists have done better than toriums if that helps.

I own a lexa 300 lefty and also a daiwa tatula lefty. The tatula casts amazing. had issues with corrosion on the tatula but got it serviced so it should be better now.

Although I love my Lexa's, I have had a problem with the reel not engaging when in freespool. I have to manually lift the switch to engage the reel or crank the handle really fast. That happened on my 100, I can feel it happening to the 300 currently. I clean my reels religiously after every outing.
