Well done on the halibut. Thats the deal with them, weeding through the shorts to find the big ones. It's difficult to stay focused some times but the next bite could be a trophy. Mike

Congratulations Dude!
Way to Go Man, I've never caught a halibut either...so I can imagine the stoke. Haven't really fished for them either...bottom, sand, close to structure. Gonna start though, it's time to wipe off the hali skunk! Had my fun with the bass for awhile now. WTG ![]() Whit- |

Thanks for all the kind words.
Went put today with a buddy in his boat (felt odd to go so fast). Caught the biggest lizard fish I've ever seen in person. Also got another short Hali near the shallow area off the south tip of Shelter Island. So shallow we could see the bottom in the right light. We almost thought we could see a butt or ray sitting on the bottom near where I caught today's shorty. |
