Thanks Greg - it was kinda surprising how many fish came after it but didn't swallow the bait and get hooked up...

Mike, I would not technically call this a bounce ball setup cause I am not bouncing it to attract attention like those do. It is just a standard downrigger setup like they use for Salmon and Lake Trout up north (just maintained very close to the bottom).
danjor, I can't remember how to allow it to be viewed by mobile devices. It used to be much more simple on YouTube. addicted, I am glad the Thresher did not take the bait, and same for the BSB. I can get a bit stressed out trying to make a good clean quick releases on fish that I don't intend to keep and get stressed out easy. Papa, The Halibut hit, but spit the bait without getting hooked or pulling hard enough to free the line from the clip. Randy, the funny stuff is the fish that get hooked up and glide along with the setup until they can shake the hook free. Never having released the clip. |

What are those snake like things in the water? I saw millions of those things in Newport Harbor a couple of weekends ago, and was wondering what they were. They seemed to be individual cells that linked into a snake like chain and could swim. Anybody know what they are?
