Lobster fishing tip...
Dana point 12-30-2010.I wanted to get one last trip in.Wind was 13 kts when I left the house but supposed to be dying out to about 6.It was pretty bad and the swell was big too and freezing.I guess I thought Posidon was going to reward me from "sticking it out".First round of pulls and Dogs stole almost all my bait.Rebaited and waited another fifteen,Paddling back to the inside each time.Pulled again and all my bait is gone again and now the dogs are following me.Honestly beginning to wonder if Anglers are inadvertently domesticating them. When the MLPA gets implemented from Newport to Dana, just think how many of them will starve... Anyways paddled back in freezing. It was 40 deg when I started up my truck for home bugless....

That sucks man. I have had those nights and they arent fun. Dunno if you use bait cages but I always put an extra bungee cord around my bait cage, and if they are stuffed to much I use a zip tie or two to keep them shut.
Better luck next time!

I haven't had a bait issue with the dogs since I started using the bait cages.
Dana is a tuff place to hoop, I went 0-4 there...I'm thinking I landed over 100 bugs in those four sessions, not one was a keeper. After the last session I decided to scout other locations, it paid off. |
