Looks like a nice reel. I haven't used the Cedros, but I have an Okuma VSystem and 3 Epixor spinning reels and really like all of them. The Cedros looks like a good choice if you're looking for a spinning reel instead of conventional/baitcaster, but I think the 65 would be too big for the bay. It would be fine for the bigger species at the kelp.

I cant speak for this particular reel but Okuma in general has really upped their quality as of late.

The Cedros is at the top of their line; and considered to be very good. I have one of their Cedros fly reels, excellent.

Okuma avenger
I have a small okuma avenger . Tiny bait feeder butt is awesome from a pier for the mack monsters , Don't know if it is rated for salt but the thing goes with me on my yak and hasn't had any problems.
