Fish Icing Time Lines?

Hey Guys,

What's the time line you use to ice your YT, WSB, HLBT?

Thanks

Steve

I like to ice them down at least 18 hrs, 24 is better. It allows them to stiffen some and makes it much easier to fillet and leaves very little waste.

I need to buy a good fish bag, my last couple of catches didn't fit well in my largest cooler.

gill and gut... then 24 hours on ice at least imo... a lil longer doesn't hurt either.

The fish will be easier to fillet for reasons mentioned above, and it gives the blood more time to congeal making it easier to keep your fillets clean. Blood is the enemy... but more importantly don't let fresh water touch your fillets either... remove from ice/ water bath and dry with paper towels...
