I pour lead!... I have torpedo, pyramid, egg, round, 1,3, 5 # rock cod sinker molds.
FYI lead tire weights work well for lead. They are tough to get since many places recycle them, but if you can sweet talk a tire shop, the lead weights work well. Since at the beginning of the year, they outlawed lead tire weights, some places have them lying around unable to use them. What do you use to heat your lead? I've been using a barbecue, or a propane torch.

i use a homemade smelter. it burns wood, so i can kill to birds with one stone. i get rid of my cut up wood and melt my lead at the same time.
i also use wheel wights to make my sinkers. i work for a tire shop, mainly large trucks. so i get some big wights. i have about 55gls of lead in the shop. i just don't think i will use it all so i will be trading it or selling it to people. |

i usually use bailing wire for the wire loop, wire last longer than the sinker does LOL or use a finsh nail with wax on it for the egg sinkers, slips right out after cooling

Claremont is not too far from Fullerton, but Clairemont is not that close unless you are planning a trip to LJ.
