DP: Cinco De Mayo Fishin

Launched from Doheny Beach for the first time today.. was out on the water by 6:00pm. I headed over to the usual spots.. fishing plastics. The swell was coming in pretty good.. and the sun was gone. Either was I was able to pull up this huge Sand Bass using a 1oz Silver Warbait with a brown Roboworm Saltwater swimbait:

and I think this tree fish?

Was off the water by 7:15.. was fun, but a sketchy paddle back into the shore.

That's one giant sandra. Nice job. Looks like you got him pretty shallow.

Yeah.. he gave a really nice fight. At first I thought it was a nice sized Halibut because I was in such shallow water..

The launch out was easy.. it was coming back in which was the problem. My first attempt I started to paddle in, and then a couple of decent sized swells came rolling in. So I paddled back out over them, and waited a few.. then was able to get back in without a problem.
