La Jolla on sunday?

anybody gonna be fishing LJ tommorow? ill be heading there in the morning in search of my dinner. sadly it will be my first time there so if anybody has any pointers on where to make bait and any tips on the area would be greatly appreciated. im not looking for a huge WSB, just a few fish for tacos or whatever. hows the launch there? is it safe to drop off your yak and put your wheels back in your vehicle without somebody helping theirselves to your gear? thanks guys. Mark

I was out there today, so I won't be there tomorrow. But bait was pretty easy to make once the sun started to come out.

Do you have a fish finder? That's about all you'll need to find bait. Just look for marks on the screen, and don't get "fish marks" confused with "kelp marks". haha

As for the launch, the K rail is still up, so you will need your wheels. Its relatively safe there, if you're there early, there are few people around anyways. In the afternoon though, I personally carry all my rods and reels with me to my truck, rather than leaving them on the kayak. Just ask someone you see to keep an eye on your gear.

(BTW Bring a GPS or compass, it was super foggy today.)
