DFG meeting LA, kayak harder speaker

For your enjoyment, the RSG member who trashed us, is...

Scott Dunce, oops (typo), Scott Dunne, a kayak guide, instructor, and fisherman who supports 3.

Given to me by the radio guy at WOXN (?) am 1070...thank you.

Enjoy...I know I had fun making it, to those in it, you'll get your check soon, to those not in it, sorry, and to those who don't get it...

"A few thousand of us vs 20 Million of the other regional stakeholders"? Holy Alamo Batman.

Now that's getting really creative with statistics.

So does anyone know the name of this turd's kayak shop so we can make sure none of us ever buy or support his shop ever? The guy was just a condescending ass who was extremely pompous and arrogant, I encourage everyone to boycott his shop and guide service as he is clearly against us despite his claims of being a fisherman!

This guy is no fisherman, much less a kayak fisherman. He's a recreational, non-consumptive kayak guide that takes tourists to the channel islands to look at sea lions. Check it- http://www.dfg.ca.gov/MLPA/pdfs/comm...unn_101109.pdf

yep, W. Scott Dunn -

Another email from his address at islandkayaker@earthlink.com

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mlpa/pdfs/comments/i_060409.pdf

I did find a business that may be associated with him, but I'll not tarnish an innoccents business, in case Mr. Dunn is not the owner.

His comments about Kayakers needing to improve there skills with better weather recognition and surf zone ability fall in contrast to his knowledge of when dangerous situations can occur.

He alerted the CINC - Channel Islands Naturalist Corps about a shark that bumped a woman's kayak. He knows that anything is possible, yet he puts it all on us?! http://www.rain.org/pipermail/channe...ne/000450.html Puts us farther out on the water?

I know he was listed in the 2007 and 2009 Sanctuary Advisory Council for nonconsumptive recreation. It appears that only maximum closures would suit this eco extremist. Where was his middle ground?

Oh, my, his argument supporting Group 3 was as solid and scientific as was the info supporting the existence of "Global Warming." What a fanatic.

The reason the pilgrims sailed here was to escape an oppressive society. One of the primary purposes of our form of government is to protect minority interests from more powerful or influential groups who seek to strip them of their rights. Allowing the citizens of this country to reasonably access and benefit from the natural resources of this country is the basic economic tool that resulted in populating the country west of the Allegany mountains. The creation of these MPAs strips us of a fundamental right. The case has not been made that these MPAs are the only way to preserve the marine environment and the creation of them through a privately funded and one sided process is equivalent to authoritarianism.

My two cents. Tom

Does He pay His Taxes? State-Federal-
Cities take a % of businesses like that, is his ledger up to date. Does He accept Cash ?

Are His certifications, permits, and licenses up to spec ?

Is He a DFG Licensed Guide? Do His Kayaks require safety inspections ?
Is he operating with a Current and Valid CPR Certification ?

Any Insurance Claims? , Is He BBB Certified = they are a stickler when it comes to complaints.

Who is his Insurance Carrier?
-Has he disclosed any injuries, or medical conditions that may effect safely operating that business?

He sounded so confident and righteous, that I don't think he would mind answering these questions. After all He wants us to be better kayakers, and made some suggestions.

Billy, I am going to be very careful never to get you pissed off at me. Wow! What a list. I bet this guy, (and most of our beloved guides as well), would not pass muster.

Dunns is a Dunce ...let's have some fun with him Let's hope he's sponsored by some company(s) or manufacturer(s)....because whatever company he is sponsored by will no longer get my business and they will get a very nice email on why. Every kayak oriented company knows we exploded their sales in a very short period with the growth of this sport.

He paddles with no REAL gear...Tee Hee Hee...even the rent-a-kid tourists at La Jolla can do that. What a loser.

Ahhh....these guys support the site....is he the site owner? Werner Paddles.....you can imagine how much $$$$ we put in their pockets with all those carbon fiber paddles we buy....I think they need to see a flood of emails of how he is representing the company by turning us toward Onno, Carlisle, Cannon, and others.

Here is the contact information for his sponsors.

Werner: http://www.wernerpaddles.com/about_us/contact/
Make sure you note that some of their sponsored guides (Jim Sammons and Jason Morton) fought against the closures, while Capt. Douche Nozzle was trying to harm their market.

North Water: http://www.northwater.com/html/about_us/about_us.html

Didn't see him named as a sponsored guide on either site. Either he is very small time or he is misrepresenting his sponsorship.

So according to clown guide, these closures won't affect us if we just improve our skills. Maybe he could donate his time, experience, and mad skills to teach the rest of us drooling paint lickers to be safe in the dangerous, unpredictable ocean. Mike
