Depends on how much u want to spend, I found a plain jane red boat vest for $25 on craigslist. I also just picked up a really cool fishing life/vest from REI for only 50 bucks on sale.

Great PFD. has the Baja Back and mesh shoulders. We have sold a lot of these.

No Matter what you buy get a paddling specific jacket. If you dont you will be uncomfortable and will not wear it. It does you no good if its not on....

I've got the Extrasport Osprey and can vouch that it's way more comfortable than my regular life vests. All the pockets come in handy for tackle, camera and VHF.
