chance to protest the MLPA
Join CFC’s Protest of “Green” Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at his Upcoming Global Climate Summit Save the date: Wednesday. September 30, 2009, 10 a.m. – noon Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles It’s time to gather in force to show the world media how “green” our Governor really is and hopefully shame him into doing something about ocean pollution, instead of punishing fishermen in pursuit of his environmental legacy. The Governor has invited leaders from around the world to discuss climate change and so far, approximately 200 reporters will be at this event, so it’ll be a great opportunity to be heard. We’ll be gathering in a protest outside the summit in Century City. You can show your support by rallying your boats, fishing garb, t-shirts, signs, megaphones and anything visual to spread the message that the governor should not target fishermen and their families, but instead address pollution. WHAT: Protest of Gov. Schwarzenegger's “green” ocean policy AKA the Marine Life Protection Act WHEN: Wednesday September 30, 10 a.m. – noon WHERE: Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel 2025 Avenue of the Stars Los Angeles, CA 90067 Exact rallying point TBA soon Sign ideas: “Don’t ignore pollution, Governor Schwarzenegger!” “Governor, why aren’t you addressing pollution?” “How can Schwarzenegger be the greenest governor when CA beaches are the most polluted in the USA?” “Terminate ocean pollution, not fishing” “Help our seaside communities fight pollution, not fishermen” “Fishermen aren’t the problem, Governor, pollution is!” “My son wants to fish, but he can’t because Governor Schwarzenegger refuses to address ocean pollution.” CONTACT: Ray Young, 916.781.0659, ray@halldinpr.com Diane Pleschner-Steele, 805.693.5430, dplesch@earthlink.net
