NPH and DP

With the nice weather we've had lately I was able to get out a lot this past week. On Wed, 1/28, I hit NPH after work. To have that much fun during the week reminded me of the feeling you get the first time you ditch high school and go to the beach all day. (For all the kids on the forum I'm not advocating skipping class, stay in school!! It was a different time back then; it was the 90's...) I ended up with 2 sandies and my wife caught 4, all on buttered up plastic.

On Saturday, I did another night session in NPH. Before I went, I went to Sports Authority with one of their $25 off $100 coupons and picked up some waders and misc items. I can't believe I've fished this long without waders!! (Not that I've fished that long...) Fishing while dry really does beat being wet!! Who knew?!! I ended up with 3 sandies, one on a Rat-L-Trap and the others on buttered up plastic.

On Sunday, I went out to Dana Point for the first time. When I got there I was awestruck by the number of kayakers. (I've only fished NPH and HH.) I literally sat in my car and stared for a bit taking it all in... When I finally got on the water, a fog bank rolled in which was a lot of fun especially since I wasn't really familiar with the area. I also got the pleasure of experiencing jet skiers coming out of said fog at high speeds I ended up with a sandy on the Rat-L-Trap, a mackerel on Rapalas' version, and two more sandies, a calico, and a smelt? on the buttered plastic.

Nice job Sea Dog...Love that first pic....Don't you just hate it when you forget to pinch the barb down and you hook it through that thick part of the jaw near their eye!
