CCA Coastal Social Tournament 4/30
The second annual Coastal Social Saltwater Bass Series kicks off on April 30th. Are you ready to catch some fish and support Coastal Conservation Association of California? What is a Coastal Social? The Coastal Social is a saltwater bass event for Calico Bass, Sand Bass and Spotted Bay Bass with two divisions to fish in. Boater and Kayaker. The boating division consists of 3-angler teams that will have a weigh-in at a specific spot and live release. The KAYAK DIVISION is for individual kayak, or float tube anglers with an aggregate length format for your best three fish. TourneyX is the app where you’ll send your photos of your Bass on your measuring board…It’s a really cool format where you can watch your competition as the tourney goes on during the day. Last year’s winner received a new Okuma Komodo Reel and a bunch of Hobie accessories and wear including a new pair of Hobie Sunglasses. You can fish anywhere on the coast that you like and just submit your photos to Tourney X…for the folks that are new to a tournament this is probably one with the least amount of pressure and low key events of the year and it’s a great way to wet your feet at a kayak Tournament…If you fish the event from Cabrillo Beach you could paddle or drive right over to 22nd St Landing to pick up your Swag Bag… This event is a lot of fun with some great sponsor giveaways as well. When is the Coastal Social? This year there are two events: Saturday April 30 – Long Beach Harbor. Weigh Station will be based out of 22nd Street Landing where you will also pick up your goodie bags. Saturday September 17 – Mission Bay, San Diego. Weigh station will be located at Dana Landing where you will also pick up your goodie bags. RULES: REMOTE FORMAT Kayak anglers must be registered and signed-in for the tourneyX digital leaderboard during the official tournament time. All unique identifiers, measuring devices, image capturing must abide by event rules for catches to be verified toward official length limit. LINES IN / LINES OUT / LOG DEADLINE Event starts with “lines in / lines out” start and finish of tournament time. Notification of official lines in / lines out will be advised via VHF radio channel 65. Official tournament time is 6:00am - 2:00pm. Official catch log deadline is 3:00pm via tourneyX tournament app. Plan and log accordingly to meet deadline. CATCH, MEASURE, LOG, RELEASE For fish to be verified, please make sure all aspects of measuring and unique identifiers for the event adhere to rules. 3 FISH LENGTH LIMIT A tournament length limit can consist of 3 total fish. All 3 saltwater bass species (Kelp Bass, Barred Sand Bass, Spotted Bay Bass) are eligible to be weighed toward your bag limit. HOW DO I SIGN UP? Head over to Coastal Social for more information and to check out the list of sponsors. https://www.coastalsocial.org
