PCS Show
There was probably three times the normal attendance and participation from the Sportfishing industry. It's primarily a saltwater fishing show with some really comprehensive seminars by different panels of pretty knowledgeable skippers and guides... I was there representing Hobie and we had lots of interested anglers of all ages checking out the kayaks... We even had the 4 person inflatable party barge, the "Fiesta"... The Fred Hall show is coming up soon but we won't be offering any demo rides at the lagoon this year...the vendor list is looking pretty slim this year with lots of major players deciding to attend the PCS show rather than the FHS... There's a rumor that Andy at OEX is planning a DEMO day soon at his Sunset Beach store... I"ll be there to help you get on the water in an Outback or a PA if you're looking for a new kayak or you just want to experience the Hobie Mirage Drive...

It looks like Hobie had a good display for the show. Had it been a couple of weeks earlier, coulda woulda gone.
Even if one isn't shopping, the fishing seminars merit attendance. If I can learn just one new subtlety at each workshop, vale la pena. Pre-Covid IFGA sponsored seminars at most of the major Florida boat shows, but that has dried up. Last weekends Miami Boat Show had no seminars. |

Yes, he's showing, his true side. A REAL A HOLE! A real surprise is that his sponsors, Hobie, Promar, etc. are still associated with him. I guess he represents their values. Re think what Brands you buy.

Disliking a WSB grow-out volunteer who advocates for the kayak community in CCA and local politics is difficult. When does the condescending sarcastic attitude outweigh the attaboys? Hobie might want to add this to the fishing team standard issue: https://www.amazon.com/Dont-Richard-.../dp/B07SWBM5X7 |

There is rumor of an actual underlying issue that was not stated. lawsuits and countersuits going on. the original lawsuit has publicly available information, while the countersuit has not been released to the public yet.
There is another rumor that the vendor list was so small that the show would hardly even reach break-even in terms of cash flow. After all, why hold a show if you make $0 from it. PCS is now taking big advantage of this cancellation and trying to promote a massive show for 2023.

I too heard that Hall family sold the show.
Now the seller and buyer are suing each other. The covid issue is an excuse. |
