Fun La Jolla Rock Fishing
Four of us hit the water, and I was the only one with a fish finder. And since my finder is new Hook7, I didn't have any rockfish spots marked. Now the burden was to find potential spots, and start knocking on doors. We stayed around the 150 depth all day. This happened on the last full moon. Water temps haven't risen an iota, ie, 58F. No signs of life birds or bait. So we were all happy to stay on course and find some rockfish. We found some--but the closer we were to shore the smaller the units. Finally around 3-4 miles offshore. We struck a nice honey hole and fished it hard for around 2 hours. I got my biggest whitefish, tree fish and vermillion. So stoked! |

Looks like a great time Yani. I see Mikey was around, I went out to La Jolla 3 times this last week and never ran into him. I like the nice size reds you got for a great dinner.

Hey Mr Lar13
Check out the pics and notice the box on my deck. It's a 3lb box of fresh frozen squid for human consumption. I buy mine at Ranch 99. You can cut up the squid or use them whole, like me. Good luck. |

Hah! Yanni, I was on your site today to get tips for the first time making fried fish tacos, or the first time frying the tortillas with the raw fish inside. Really good! Thanks for the Fisherman's Belly!
For years have battered the fish, but this time I put the fish in raw, with spices, then fried. Delicious! I use the Baja Spice from Fisherman's Processing, really good. |

Seaquinn!!
Back in the sixties my cousin and I used to make those tacos at my Uncle's restaurant in Huntington Park Ca. I'm sure we ate more than we made! So stoked you loved them just like us!!
