Thule's customer service is really helpful and responsive, i would suggest giving them a call. I use a hullavator on an outback that's 34" wide and there's little to spare.

Although I don’t have the measurement, my Outback fit, but I had to go past the normal installation.
AS a side note: The spacing of the lifts should be so your fists are not too far apart. It takes a bit of force to squeeze the handle to release the lifts. The farther the lifts, harder to squeeze. The closer the lifts, the less stable the kayak will be. Also figure a way to protect the body with tarp and maybe Styrofoam. The first time I used it, I put two very small dent in my brand new 4Runner. |
