10/4 bugging in Newport

Got on the water around 5, had 2 hoops with dead fresh maks and salmon head from my local grocery store for bait. Hooped till 11pm in 20-40 ft of water with lots of shorts. Managed to get one good one.

Nice bug. Was it crowded out there? Are there places to hoop other than tight to the jetties? The last time I was out there, which was 8+ years ago, I got into it with a booze cruise boat.

This was my first time ever bugging. That said i kinda just copied what others were doing. I dropped a couple hoops on the outside of the harbor about 30 yards from the jetty for lots of shorts. I had more action inside the harbor.

Nice Bug! If you don’t mind me asking. Where did you launch your kayak? Thanks
