First time launching at La Jolla Shores 07/01
Blue Eddyline Caribbean 14'. Orange PFD. I'll be the oldest geezer on the beach, but I can still paddle 7 or 8 miles per day and spend 5 or 6 hrs OTW. Looking forward to meeting up. |

Launch where Avenida de la Playa meets the ocean. That’s the designated launch spot.

Just checked your address - probably close enough, but aim for the street above when you come in.

7-8 miles in 5-6 hours?
Damn I'm still young and I went like 4 miles or so with favorable wind while trying it out in dana today going around looking for that damn pipe for 3 hours (found that I went the wrong way anyway). I was also paddling one of those fat ass tank malibut stealth so maybe I couldn't go fast anyway. I might head out monday if condition looks favorable. It would be my first time in la jolla with surf launch as well. I would be glad to tag along with you as you also paddle so I wouldn't be left in the dust by those pesky pedal people ( though I might be left in the dust anyway). |

If you don't have a FF with GPS and the borders on the chart, here is a photo of what you need to be WEST of, to be OK.

It is very difficult for most folks to know what they are west of without a compass in their hand. Just line up the flagpole with the palm tree just to the left of it in the picture and you will be good.
