Kayak Fishing Report and Species ID Request

This is a Kayak Fishing Report from San Diego Bay on 8/11/2108.

Wow, what a steamy session being warm and humid from sunrise forward! I was actually glad when that San Diego Bay wind and chop came up for a little bit of refreshment. The water temp was in the mid-80s.

I'm not including any pictures of Spotted Bay Bass as I just can bring myself to photograph them anymore. Also, I hooked an 18+ in Bonefish and got him boat-side twice. On his third run, he freed himself leaving the hook on my anchor-line...D'oh!

OK, I know it's a dink. But, what kind of fish is this? I never caught one before:

It was good to see a decent Yellow Fin Croaker:

Here is a little San Diego Trout AKA Corvina:

Enjoy

Great report and nice mixed bag of fish!
As mentioned its a Black Croaker/ aka china croaker or I've also heard corvinata negra.

I used to fish tidelands and the back of SD bay often and would pick those up every once and a while.

Cheers!

....."corvinata negra" certainly sounds the most exotic!
