There are many small bass right against the rocks but be careful of the kelp. The islands get a ton pressure as every skiff that comes by will stop to see if there is any action. If you fish bigger lures you will not get much action as the rare legal fish are caught pretty quickly. If you downsize your lures the action will pick up but with mostly smaller fish. I have had a lot of fun with green Big Hammer perch grubs which are about 1.5 inches long.
Fish can sometimes also be found in the surrounding deeper water 20-30 yards from the island when bait is around. Hope this helps. Tight lines |
