LJ Yellowtail 7/11
Got out on the water at 6 ish. Bait was a pain at first but shortly found some sardines and mackerel. Used the sabiki and caught roughly 6 and began trolling. 10-15 mins into trolling and something slams my bait. I reeled it up from the depths and it was a big yellowtail. Gaffed em and got em into the boat without a problem. Got blood all over my boat and put it in my game bag. Overall a fun day at LJ and my first ever yellowtail.

Sweet!
I must admit I am jealous though. Still waiting for my first, but to do that I need more time on the water.
Well done! |

I like the way everything is so neatly filleted, packaged and labeled in the second photo! Delicious, precious fresh fish, ready to enjoy. Yum!
Bravo!

Yeah I went to 5 star processing down near San Diego bay. Did it on the spot and had everything packaged and put away with a ton of ice. They cleaned my game bag up and put in fresh ice for free. Ice there is cheap at 3 dollars for 20lbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

La Jolla shores is swell blocked by the rest of La Jolla. Windansea for instance saw every bit of that swell because its exposed. Long period means more water moving less frequently.

That's the only way to properly Christen a new kayak!
