Fishfinder Transducer Q / A

Need your comment / suggestion.

I used to marine goop my transducer inside my kayak , and it works ok until the goop eventually failed ( a year or two).

Then I tried the external transducer arm, hanging outside the kayak, and it worked good except it created drag and catch debris and seaweed and kind of bulky to store.

Then one day Yellowtail Queen Sharon told me to use "plumber's putty" and I used it until today, quite happy with it. I can easily transfer the transducer between different kayaks.

Now, the newer Hobie kayak(Lowrance Ready) has the "transducer plate" that your transducer still shoot thru a piece of plastic to see fish.

Except you will get true temp. reading .
Are you better off than the regular shoot thru method ??

Thanks for all input.

If you are using a 50/200 transducer, you may want to see if it will fit.

It fits

I've installed the 50/200 on an outback and a PA14
