World record....not! Not even the American record. Only the largest in the lower 48 states. Big fish though.

Been seeing this floating around the web with the same BS about "World Record" all week. I know that Howard's fish was 180+, but apparently Alaska does not count? I guess I have a lot of "Record" fish, just for very small and specific areas (measured in square feet). Btw, who is keeping the "Records" that he broke? It sure is not the IGFA.

I just wish they did a better job of referencing the actual record by Howard McKim. His fish was 183 pounds.
Hard to get a good size reference because Howard is about 6'9" as I recall.
