Reversable Mirage Drive?

Has anyone heard of a new reversible mirage drive for the 2017 Hobie kayaks?

Thanks,

Have not heard that, there is the drive for the PA 17 that was designed to drop in forward or reverse, with added idler pulley on each side and squared pedals.

When I got back into yak fishing after a long layoff, inadvertently put my drive in backwards. Gave guys on the beach a real good laugh as I tried to get out thru the surf. Without a paddle (left at home), I just thought there must be a super rip going on. Whipped like a dog, I was on the beach and noticed a label on the drive that said something about making sure label faces you when installing drive. Pretty humbling but my next attempt was successful. Duh!

Thanks,
Engineering would be a problem as to go in reverse the drive could do it BUT the steering configuration would be all wrong. Rudder would be in a very poor position for positive rudder control.

Can't you just pull the drive out, flip it around, and put it back in?
