Power Bilge Pump

I'd like to replace my hand pump (that's what she said) with a powered bilge pump. I know this post is about safety, but I'm a bit on the thrifty side. Any recommendations regarding pumps, overall setups including battery, hoses, etc.? Thank you!

handpump

Spicolly...I have a hard enough time keeping my bilge pump and bait tank working on my skiff...I don't know if I'd rely on a bilge and a battery and their connections in a kayak...over the years I've found that electronics and saltwater just aren't friends.
IMHO...I'd keep the handpump on-board your kayak, even if you go with the electric version.
