7/31, boobies in LJ.

One Booby any way. Maybe there are othe birders here. A big part of our fishing is bird watching and since I don't use a FF I'm constantly bird watching. What species, how they fly, altitude, where theyre flying, solo or in groups. Any way, saw a gull sized bird yesterday. Did the double take. Not a gull but a boobie. Theyre common south of here but I starting seeing them locally maybe 5 years ago. Saw two in LJ last year and now one this year. Global warming?

Like most I had tough bait making and no fish yesterday. Mike

If I had to pick a favorite bird, that would be it.

Cool sighting. Noticed they've set up shop at the Nados a few weeks ago. Awesome to hear they're at the Jewel.

We came across a small group of Brown Boobies on a 1.5 day trip last month. First time I've ever seen those guys in local waters.
