2 1/2 Day SCI Trip
We had great weather, good fishing, excellent service/food (what a pork chop). We were able to fish three sides of the island. For me I ended up with 5 YT's all on the small side, 3 sheepsheads, ton's of bait killing Bonita, and bass as big as a 2 liter bottle. It was nice to meet everyone and im already looking forward to next years trip. Last edited by 619-SWIM-DOG; 06-15-2015 at 05:55 PM. |

Yes it was another fun trip on the Islander. The crew, food and opportunity all great. Fished all three sides of the island and got three yellow's two on and one nice Hali on bait and was just bumped out of the jackpot by Greg's awsome .
If my arms weren't still hurting I would go again today.

Thanks for reporting.
Nice to see pleasant seas and wfo island for a change. Wind plus naval restrictions can really hamper the potential.

Fishing the Islander was hands down one of the best fishing experiences I've had. The service was impeccable and the chef was amazing! I have never seen a crew work so hard and with such great attitudes! They were patient with everyone, and were there to make sure we all had the best possible time, and had everything we needed. Can't wait for next year! (Left to right: EastLosYaker, Chuck D, and Leezo Nightengale)

Just giving a shoutout to the bros I shared some boat time with. If you ever make it up to NorCal, let me know, and we'll put you on some fish.

I had a blast with you So-Cal cats and I learned a lot from you guys. Thanks for having Allen and myself along. Like he said, if any of you guys head North look us up on NCKA and we'll go bang some rockfish.
Hope to see you at Albion, EastLos! |

Another fine trip by the crew of the Islander (total service orientation). I only got a few pics and not much video on this trip. I must have missed the great weather through the drizzle and wind? Got to fish Saturday morning on the West side for the first time which was a treat. I only kept two fish, but they were nice ones. Got my first Islander trifecta with a 6 or 7lb YT that I released. Lots of big Calicos out deep that wanted to play. The shallow Halibut were pretty much a no-show for this trip though. Great to fish with a lot of new faces, and a few familiar ones.

Great Trip indeed. It had been 4 years since I last was on one of these trips. It was still the same quality of service I had remembered.
I got the chance to really put the flat fall jig to work this trip. I counted 8 different species of fish caught all on this same jig. Yellows, rock fish, bass, whitefish...everything wanted it. The Jig also worked throughout the entire water column...on the surface, mid and on the bottom. The hype is real. Shimano really got this Jig right. Calico's wouldn't leave this thing alone. Although I don't recommend using it for calicos unless you plan to keep the fish you catch. This happened multiple times. The hooks aren't very forgiving.
