Im still kinda new at this whole thing. Want to pick up a jig stick for chucking the irons. Ive got a question though...you spooled the torium up with braid first, then added 200yds of 40 lb mono, or am I missing something. Everyone on here talks about cutting the kelp with braid, but if theres all that mono on there...how do??
Thanks for the time. Casey |

Hello Casey,
I just used it as a top shot. I can cast a long way with this set up. I used this stick on the boat only so when it's time for new line, I'm only changing 200 yards. Not a full spool. In my kayak I use an 8ft rod with a 6-8ft top shot. This set up allows me to get through the kelp easily. GBF
