Dana Point 3/21
Didn't have much of a game plan except for fishing the kelp and a couple structure marks on the bottom. Made our way to the kelp, where it was non existent on the surface due to the high tide. Threw swimbaits and lucky crafts for a while for nothing but macs. Made our way to some marks, fished the bottom but only caught macs. Came back to the kelp and it was wide open! I caught 40 plus fish including Calico's, Sand Bass, Barracuda, and juvenile White Sea Bass on the lucky C and 5' big hammers (smelt, Christmas tree, etc). Biggest fish was a 3lb calico. Benichi had a great day too catching upwards towards 50 fish and a 4lb+ Calico. Best day at DP. No wonder why this spot is my favorite. I have next week off (3/30-4/6) and hoping I can link up with some other members. Hit me up! NC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
