New Toys!

So I placed my order in about a month ago for the new Torium which finally came in last week! Then I scored on a Trini from a guy on BD who didn't have cash to get a cpl custom rods built. So we bartered! I'm taking the Torium jigging next weekend. I can't wait!

Handle upgrade

I already upgraded the handle on it. Swapped out the silver one for a black one with a Eva power knob.

Jeff, have you had a chance, or has anyone had a chance to fish the new torium? Anyone hook a fish on it yet as well?

Doing some vertical jigging with it? Or yo yo jigging? I'd match it up with a trevala f jigging rod for either vertical or yoyo jigging.

I was bed written over the weekend, hoping to get out this weekend however. I have it paired with a custom Trevela I rewrapped. I'm hoping all goes well and I can score some bites with it this weekend on Hvy jig.

I took out my new Torium 16 out for a spin last Saturday on a overnight to San Clemente. I spooled it with 360yards of izor 50lbs white braid with 38 yards of 40lbs clear pline on top. Mated it with calstar 800M
Fish were mostly 10-20lbs and it worked awesome for jigging salas 6x jr and heavy. Plenty of drag and power however one thing I would improve would be better handle. Both my friend and I got nasty bloody blister on the same finger
Using Torium. Other than that it was a great jigging reel. No need to worry about line management due to its narrow spool.

JeffB,
What kind of handle is that and where did you get it?
Actually a little arm and a t handle would be a real good improvement

Thank you!
Is that new handle longer than the original Torium handle? The new Torium sure can use little more torque.
