Cabrillo Beach?

Although I'm generally familiar w/ Cabrillo I haven't been there for 10yrs and have never fished there. Plan go this week and wondered about parking. Is it best to enter from Stephan White or go to 22nd st and follow shoreline (Shoshone Dr)? Last time there was a gate guard collecting fees - is that still the case or are there pay machines?...do I need coins, bills, or credit card? Any other tips you care to offer about fishing for hali would be welcome. Thanks,
Wayne

you pay when you exit
Its $1.00/hr with a $9 max for cars, cash only
I believe trailers are $15
I use the 22nd street entrance because the gate is much closer to the launch
If you launch at the boat launch stay to the left, away from the dock
skip the bait barge and make your own bait
