Mission Bay, 12-8-14

Landwhale and I launched about 6:30 from the North end of Vacation Island. There was a cool offshore wind and quite a few clouds. Water was clear and 64º+. Tide was going high, but there wasn't a lot of movement. We headed straight to Sail Bay and worked the buoy line and surrounding water most of the morning.

By about 9:00 I had 8 with one of them a legal. I hadn't found a single color that stood out and then the slow pick died off. We waited it out and then about 10:00 it picked up pretty good. By 11:00 I had 16 more, 2 of them legals. We were off the water by 11:15.

Fished quite a few colors, but the 3" Flurry in Minnow Magic and 4" Paddlerz in New Penny and Smokey Shad were the best producers. At one point Steve was making fun of me and offered me some Butter. I refused, but also decided to be more diligent about applying the Hot Sauce. Made a big difference.

So I finished with 22 spotties and Steve had 24. Both of us had a good time and for a bonus the traffic wasn't bad on the way home.

Nice report ... UniButter always works for me. There have been those few times when it failed me. I may have to get some hot sauce for back up.

Thanks for the report.

Thanks for report. You two always seem to do well in the bays. The spotty fishing looks like it has been good as of recently in both SDB and MB
