This Is How I Do It

Here's how I seal my lobster

I typically do this on the tail gate of my truck or I'll get out some saw horses and law down a piece of plywood

1. Lay an old shirt or towel down to catch the lobster gooooo

2. I got a hold of one of these bread trays, I will lay the lobster on it once they're cut and let the goooooo drip out

3. I cut the bottom membrane of the lobster from one side to the other, its not necessary but it makes it a bit easier when you twist the tail off the carapace.

4. Once the lobster has been de-tailed I will break off one of the antenna and cut-off about 2/3 of the antenna(discard flexible portion). Next, I will insert the antenna in the anus, shove it in as far as possible and turn in 1-2 times

5. As you start to pull the antenna out you will be pulling out the intestine, once its completely out you can discard this.

6. I will take some paper towels and fold side over side twice. Once the towel has been folded over I will place the towel over the bottom portion of the tail and cover the spines/thorns/pointy things that hurt when they stick you.....yes, I'm speaking from experience

6-A. If the tail is wider than the tail do not fold the towel over twice. After folding it over once take approximately 1/3 of each side of the towel and fold it over.

7. Place tail inside the vacuum bag

8. Place bag inside your Vacmaster VP112

9. Seal bag
