Hooked em & cooked em

Fished Dana Point earlier in the week. Lots of action on the sardines. fished the beach for a bunch of raked baits, couple short halibut, sandbass, couple short seabass, 1 leopard and 1 keeper halibut for dinner(nothing like Wayne's but excellent table fare). Water was nice and murky with smaller surf, good current and 66 degrees.

I'll take a shot, judging by the thickness of you fillets, 8-10lbs?

to be accurate you have to take the thickness of the fillet X the degree of BENDO=

That bendo with that thick of a rod, I'll re-guess that it's easily over 10lbs.

it was big enough to gaff, but not big enough to weigh or bother measuring.

Went back out yesterday PM trying out the new Wilderness Systems Thresher 140, for a little less action. Ended up catching 3 spiny dogfish, 2 leopards, 1 short WSB and 2 halibut, one looked legal, but I was hoping for something bigger.
