Not much happening straight out....sandbass and maybe a halibut but those are few and far between. The area where Vonny boats always catches the yellows is a good 2+ miles to the point and about a quarter mile out in 60-100ft. Maybe you could get a tow out from them and paddle back. They use their famous homemade aluminum rough polished jig and don't make bait.
A quarter mile past Vonnys is a dirt road turn off to the south side of the point over the mountain.....follow the road 'till it dead ends at a perfect little inlet cove that looks like a swimming pool with a cement boat launch. As soon as you leave the cove it drops off steeply.....work the rock out croppings for calico and lings (both the largest I've ever caught) and I've hooked yellows there but lost them on light tackle. Bring squid to tip your hooks. Good luck. |
