Lost Gear @ Cabrillo 9/14

Ok this is a long shot, but who knows.

So my pops got rolled last weekend when a stupid PB was going too fast in the harbor. He is okay, and managed to right his Hobie and remount the kayak like a champ. BUT in the roll he lost a fishing set up I gave to him as a Birthday Present last year.

It is an Okuma 8' casting rod with a blue Avet Sxj.

He lost it by the light house at the end of the break wall, on the inside of the harbor. If anyone happens to snag onto it I would be more than willing to give you a reward for it. Its not the cost of the gear but the sentimental value.

Thanks

That's a really rough part of Cabrillo...boats cruise in and out of there at top speed, with no regard for kayakers. Close to the end of the breakwall it's about 50 feet, but it drops off quicky into the shipping channel.

Wasn't me, it was my dad. Its the area right by the mouth of the harbor by the light house near the kelps, away from the break wall so definitely in deeper waters. I think i remember my buddy with a fish finder once metered it at around 60-70 feet, but I can't be 100% positive about it.
