GONZAGA 9-2 thru 9-8 2014
New species.................................You bet. 42 lbs Size..........................watch for fish report later this week with pictures taken until batteries died. I will give this away, some of the spotties caught were big enough to win any spotted bass tournament held here in San Diego. Surface lures ruled............jigs and spoons went to the rocks faster than you could pull back. One ounce crockodiles and Candy Bars from SQUIDCO might have been the overall top producers with Rapalas coming in second. The spoons were HOT this trip. We were ALL ROCKED. I spent 10 minutes of an 12 minute fight rocked on a 15 pound 31 inch Cabrilla, got him out of the rocks three times before he came to gaff. Had to replace 10 feet of frayed 20 lb test before looking for more fish. Did I say the fishing was HOT? More to follow latter, lot's of new species to add to the list including the big fish of this trip.. .......WEATHER and FISHING was HOT!!!!!

Brandon, no body fished all day, and I think one of the guys had an 80 fish day. I know 23 fish in less than two hours was all I could take on day two. If the water temps stay the same, October will be even better. On the afternoon we got there I watched one pound plus mullet being hearded to the beach by jacks, corvina, and what I thought to be roosterfish, right in front of our house, but they turned out to be..............................????

No Dorado's!
Too numerous to count was the hits and pulls, the catch count doesn't reflect how hot the bite really was.
