Is this the way you treat the guy who saved your life on the water, after you chummed the water with your own blood for 3 hours and then had to motor you back in.

I still can't close my hand from all that fish we caught. I got so many cuts and teeth marks on my hand!

My "Frank moment" was when my sonar busted and following him around for structure. Mental note #342, don't follow a guy with a torqeedo trying to find structure. Despite saying that, he's one of the funnest guys I've fished with by far. You should really start a kayak fishing charter based on that alone.

Big thanks for Roby and Frank for putting this together. My digicam quit on me before the trip so all I have is on the shore phone pics.

First day. This pic was from my last drop, on my last drift, on the last piece of kelp before the landing. PB verm @ 7lb 6oz. It looked really old

This was from the second half of the second day when I overslept after the morning session.

I had a hard time hooking in to a ling the whole trip. Finally hooked on to one at the same waypoint I got the red the first day. Broke me off after I thumbed the spool a bit to try to slow down it's run. Saw that Roby was having good luck on the big plastics so Frank was nice enough to lend me one that I snagged on the first cast. I believe Roby lost two as well in the same area within 30 minutes of one another. Right before the last session I made a drive over to morro bay to buy some tackle determined to bring home a ling. Had my chance 30 minutes in and lost him fumbling for my gaff. Went home with a decent cabezon as a consolation.

I was sort of on the fence about going to the CSDIII, after this trip though I'm going to try to make it.

Glad I made one photo ... One of the best kayak trips I've been on. Fishing was good even for me and as always food was good.

Thanks Roby

There I was fishing under a morning blanket of mist and of fog with squid on a dropper loop when I get a call on the radio..." Does anyone have a bandaid.."..(John says)... I answered his radio call being the super boy Scout that I am "this is Nacho Grande --- who is need of medical attention"... John than answers "Roby is bleeding I think he gaffed himself."... I then said "how In the world did roby gaff himself!" Roby than says " frank come here I need help.. " I look around and there are like 15 other kayakers and I said "where are you at?" Roby said I'm pedaling to you. I see a faint shadow coming through the thick mist. I immediately get to him and see him covered in blood. I said "roby what happened" he said I cut myself. I reach for my waterproof first aid bag and throw it to his kayak where he gets a bandaid that quickly fills up with blood and pours down his kayak. I tell hill to get the gauze out and wrap his finger in it, roby said "but I don't want to use it all. "He wraps his finger on the gauze which quickly fills up with blood, but eventually stops the bleeding. After that I gave a tow back in.... where he was able to tend to his wound.

You don't sit on that kayak, it's remote controlled, for storage . I steer it from the pro angler
