Loaded up the hot rod (not as early as i would have like) and headed to HH for some "testing" every time I take it down that long stretch and the yak doesn't fly off I get more confident for longer hauls

was on ab epic dink tap but managed to scratch out 2 small ones

and one more

Fish were caught on AA babypus on Owner 1/4" stand up jig heads

If you tie a rope from the nose of the kayak to the front bumper and another from the rear of the kayak to the back bumper, you shouldn't have any worries about the kayak flying off you car.

The car might get airborne at higher speeds but then you'll get better gas mileage.

You can use a pool noodle, sponge or rag to protect your paint. The rain gutters getting ripped off your car might cause some paint damage as well.

I'd be nervous driving around like that too. Where's the front strap?

Don't think I would strap it down thru the scupper holes. Run to large of a chance of cracking them and having them fail at the wrong time and fill your yak with water. Scupper holes are not the strongest part of the yak.
