San Quintin Fish Report
A mixed bag of fishing reports along with mixed water temps. has made some interesting fishing for the few anglers that have made the trip to San Quintin this past week. Yellowtail are being caught at the 15 spot 10 to 15 Lbs. on the troll with "deep diver " jigs and on the "iron" reports "Gordo" Garcia of Garcias Pangas. Another fisherman reports White Sea Bass being caught south off of Tranquilo Beach while yet another angler reports excellent bottom fishing for both Ling Cod and Reds. Surf fishing at El Socorrow and Tranquillo beach has been slow to good. There has been some decent size Halibut caught in the mouth of the bay using live Lizard fish one Halibut weighing in at just over 20 Lbs. Weather has been stable with light afternoon winds which is expected in the San Quintin area. Planning a trip to the San Quintin area ? Don't forget the annual Don Eddies Memorial fishing tournament July 4th. being held on the 5th. this year and also the month long Kayak tournament hosted by Don Eddies and organized by Robert Moore aka Mako Bob. Kayakers can come and go the entire month of June and are free to fish the San Quintin area by beach launch or "mother ship" or whatever. Trophies, prizes and cash awards will be given. Hope to see you guys and gals there. Fishing starts 2 June and continues throught the 29th of June. The leader board at Don Eddies will be updated daily. And I will try to update here on the site atleast twice a week. WiFi permitting. You can sign up online or pay cash in person, in San Quintin see me the DAY BEFORE you fish to pay. $25 for Halibut, $10 for YT, WSB or largest ling and $5 for the biggest bass of the month. All fish to be weighted in person at Don Eddie's between 3-8 pm DAILY, by me or my representive. ENJOY fishing Baja in June, bring your wives and children, as this is a family frendly event. There is a bar and resturant on site, beaches and shopping in town. Other hotels and resturants are near by.
