FLY RODDERS WANTED

ATTENTION GUESTS for you to ride the BAJA EXPRESS all you need do is join BWE, only takes a minute of your time to JOIN our COMMINITY and Welcome Aboard.

I wish to propose a trip to Gonzaga, our place JUST for fly fishers. Anyone interested please contact me. There is an area starting less than one mile from our place where the fishing is great in less than 25 feet of water. Orange mouth corvina, spotted bay bass, triger fish, cabrilla over 10 lbs and for you die hards even a lizzard fish or two. Pargo, WSB and YT are a possibility, along with pompano, baracuda, halibut, sierra and other exotics. On a normal day I would be suprised if YOU DID NOT have a 50 fish day or better, that is if your tackle and arms can handle it. 30 plus fish in four hours on 12 lb bass gear was no problem on the last trip.

Any one interested, please let me know, thanks.

5 weight would be as light as I would want to go, and 9 as the heavest. I will take my 5 and a 7/8. Tippits will be 12-30lb. 100 yds minimum of backing, having a Hobie I can always peddle after them. Most will try to rock our world. MAYBE, someone out there in BWE land will chime in on the subject.

Mike and Kai, going to give it a try 8-18 of May, then again 11-19 of July, these two trips will be for any tackle. There will be at least one or two others on these trips who fly fish. But Kai I know how tight your schedule is so YOU give me the dates you can go, I will set up a trip around that. YOUR very own DREAM TRIP. Should be able to get 3-4 like minded people. Let me know.

Near term I'm jacked - no time off unless its without pay, and the wife will have none of that....
So that puts me right into the heat of mid summer - I'd like to plan a "Gonzaga on the Fly" in October though. Supposed to be great weather then with little wind, but the water is still warm enough for the good stuff. What do you think?

I'm drooling over that Hatch reel MD - simply beautiful...

OCTOBER it is, KAI please give me the dates asap and I will get it set up. Should be good in October, weather cooling off and fish all over.
Fishing md, October is a ways off, join us you do not need to spend more than a long weekend. These trips can be done on a 3-4 day weekend.

I Propose October 18th thru the 25th to be "Gonzaga on the Fly".

Thats 174 days away, plenty of time to plan and get ready.

6 Weight Redington Rod / Lamson Litespeed Reel - Check

8 Weight Custom Boron Graphite Rod / Hardy DD Reel - Check

Heck, even the 10 Weight Kunnan Rod / Redington AL Reel - Check

Large Tackle Box full of fly tying materials - Check

I have other 6 and 8 weight rods that need reels. By October I can have them rigged for someone to borrow if they want to join in and try this...

Now to order some of those cool Fish Skull components that Fishing MD is using and get to tying...

18-25 OCTOBER it is. GONZAGA on the FLY!!! We will plan on bringing an extra table and a couple 3 vices to be used evenings to play with the flys. This should give us 6 great days and one afternoon session. Kai, thank you for your inspiration in setting this up. Been considering this sense we meet at Tidelands, so this trip is for YOU!

Jack caught a larger one which he released unharmed. On light tackle these fish are tough. They are residents of the rubble reefs, sometimes found in less than 10 feet of crystal clear water. Poppers work in shallow waters. They just explode sometimes and your heart will race when it happens to you. Tight lines.

If you want to sign up for this trip please go to "Gonzaga on the FLY, October 18-15" and post. That is the only way to sign up. There are 2 confirmed, and I will only take 4 more. Thank you for your interest.

That makes it official Kai, Mike, and Makobob. A couple others have touched bases with me but no one else is firm yet.
