HELP, LOST AT LA JOLLA 6/17, HOBIE MIRAGE DRIVE and rod.

yep, rolled it 100 ft north of the boat launch in big surf with high intervals. It really sucked coming in because the wave timing was so inconsistent it was hard to estimate when to make a dash for it. Anyways after help from several swimmers I recoverd 2 poles my gaff bait tube, hat, and water bottles. Luckily no broken poles. I did however lose my HOBIE MIRAGE DRIVE system and a DIAWA COASTAL MH pole with a SHIMANO CORVALUS 400 on it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep an eye out for it. If you find it e-mail me at sdjiricek@cox.net. If I don't recover it my fishing is done for the next 6 months.

Tough Landing been their done that. It took me several wipeouts, several verv expensive rod and reel set-ups, a fishfinder, gaff, radio, life jacket, radio, several times over until I finally tied down all my rod and reels and stored whatever I can inside the yak. Glad to hear you made it back okay with some of your gear. Great job to OEX divers on your Mirage Drive System.

Make a leash for your peddle drive or keep them installed when you launch and land. You got supper lucky that you got yours back. New ones go for $400.00

Take it easy!
