Islander Trip. Who's in?

I will be heading down from OC this Sunday (17th) afternoon, wondering who else is going to be on the trip. Also looking for any tips on what to bring/not bring on the trip with regards to tackle. Planning of targeting bass and butts primarily, mostly so I am not let down with no YT or WSB as it has looked pretty scratchy on the last few trips.

Bringing the standard LJ stuff for YT/WSB and then bass gear. Looking for line recommendations for the bass gear and color recommendations for plastics. Also, anyone try any type of weedless rigging on the plastics to fish em deep in the kelp? 30lb spectra with some type of weedless rigging might be fun on the bass.

I seemed to get the best bass bites on smelt colored plastics last time, but I don't know what I'm doing bass wise. Got lots on bait as well.

I take my standard LJ gear on these trips.

I worked the outer kelp edges on the last trip for yellows with spanish macs and some greenies (which I made along the way) and the calicos were all over em. Much easier to fish the mac's over the sardines. Generally, the bigger calicos bit bait, the smaller were on plastics.

Good luck

If you fish the plastics bring lots of extras. I would hook one bass and a couple followers would come up trying to rip the bait out its mouth. As for what colors to use I think they'll hit anything.

I'm going. My back is still F'd up, so I won't be able to take my kayak. At least I'll have plenty of space on the rail to fish. I can just prop my ass up against a bulkhead and fish for bass all day

I will be there as well-
Colors are not that important-uni butter helps-
white plastics for WSB and try some iron for the calicos-croc's and medium surface iron--
See you Sunday---
