any one fishing Cabrillo beach tomorrow?
Hello to all who view this message. I wanted to know some suggestions of the waters in Cabrillo beach, I've never kayak fished out there before so I would like to know any information that would help my trip. Line setups, lures, bait, etc. Thank you all and fish on

Never fished there but I've heard about a sewer tax. I think it's one ham sandwich or something

I think the most important advice I could give is to go Early! Beat the wind if you're lucky and don't venture too far south of the launch if you don't have some stamina. It rips pretty good out there and the past week including this morning the wind has been really strong. Good luck! I'd have rather been fishing Cabrillo than fishing the wrecks today actually.

I've fished near there in the kelp paddies twice. Always has calicos, caught on frozen sardines and squid on dropper loop, and about 50 Macks on the sibiki. The second time out used rock fish rigs and caught several rockfish, sculpin, cabezon, small lingcod, and bunch of calico. Inside the wall is pretty dead, so go near the rocks in the kelp patty. It's only 30 -50 ft deep, so smaller sinkers will be just fine. Good luck

@silbaugh4liberty. Thanks for the tips you provided. I caught 3 halibut, none were legal size so I had to release em. Bummer. 2 lizard fish. And a couple calicos. I hope to fish out there again, I really liked it. Hopefully next time I get to meet team sewer and the legend yakjoe. Hahaha
