DP Tuesday

Launched at 5:30 and headed for some rockpiles near the whistler buoy. Was treated to another beautiful sunrise.

The chunky sandbass and calicos were very aggressive on the plastics and small freebies. I was only able to make 12 freebies of the perfect size any got a bite on each one of them.

One photo and all fish released.

I saw that purdy sky from the freeway on the ride down I got up at 5:30! Met Steve, loaded up and launched a bit before 7am. I hit up the bait barge for the same mix of bait they had last week, mostly greenbacks (6-8 inch), couple sardines and a couple spanish in the mix.........I like greenbacks because I thought sandbass don't. Fed the 2 sardines to big sandbass and one of the greenbacks to a 30 inch halibut. Missed a second bite on the greenback. worked mostly around 55-60 feet along the pipe.

I believe the pipe is an old wooden ship used in the civil war era

one of the many long sewage pipes that create good structure for fishing. The DP one is really easy to spot right now as you head SW out of the harbor, the lobster buoys are all in a line along it heading out.

Is it an actual sewer pipe? I was under the impression it was a reef or rock structure.

They don't call em turd rollers for nothing! I was fishing between the 9 and 11 fathoms marked on the south side.

I didn't realize there were two sewer lines and had always thought it ran eastward out the harbor.
