Preventative Maintenance - Check Your Eyes

Screw In Pad Eyes.......

This is the third one that I had snap on me this year. They are the original ones that came with the kayak so obviously 3-4 years of hard use will make this happen. I had to get a little creative........rod leash saved the day

I would consider Matt or Roby trying to straddle you on the yak as excessive use.

Stopped at OEX today to get some screw in eye doohikees and decided to also get the shaft that locks in the drive, the one that I had was worn and allowed some extra side-side play. I couldn't believe it but all I needed was a hammer and wa-la!!!!!!

you were not kidding, hard to believe that the nylon polished off that much stainless steel.

Did I mention pushing the old shaft through with the new shaft keeps it all from exploding!

How long did it take to wear like that? Must be a lot of beach work.
