Quick Huntington Harbor report
Arrived around 9 a.m., fished till 1:00 p.m. Early high tide, then receding tide in the early afternoon. Was targeting spotties and maybe a halibut if it happened. Left the FF home. Threw swimbaits exclusively, mostly mini-hammers. Didn't even smell a bass all day long. Not even a strike. Pretty surprised at that as I've had pretty good luck on spotties fishing Newport. Did manage 1 small hali that was CFR. All in all, good weather and a relaxing day on the water. |

I've always found Huntington Harbor to be a tough fishery on the best of days. I've been skunked there more times than I care to admit. At least you missed the stripe.

Try injecting your swimbaits with anchovy or sardine oil from procure... It drives the spotties crazy.
