half day seaforth 9/21

Had a change of pace and went out on a a half day boat today. Had a deal where kids were free so I went with my 2 younger cousins and 75 yr old granfather. Fishing was SLOW! I didn't catch anything. A few peoplenon the boat were able to scratch out a few rockfish. One big halibut was caught that looked to be around 30-35lbs and another yt around 15-20lb range. Tons and tons of seals stealing bait and scaring off fish. It was prettt windy as well with some decent sized swells. Being on that big boat just made me want to be on my yak! Even made me want to upgrade to a hobie mirage

Thanks for the report. I had a couple of very similar experiences 15-18 years ago that led to me getting my first kayak. I looked at what I spent to take my dad and wife out and what kind of action we saw (not much) and figured I'd rather go it on yak. But, even catching not much, I'm sure you guys enjoyed the experience.

I took the Friday PM with them. The boat only managed 16 fish for 55 people. I was lucky enough to get a small yellowtail and mini dorado. Looks like we missed them by just a few days.
