Islander SCI 4/27

Just heard from Brent that this weekend's Islander trip is one shy of the number needed to sail. Adi, Corey, and I are on this trip and with a light load it will be ultra deluxe comfort. The fishing has been very good out there and the weather forecast for Sat looks excellent. If you've been thinking about doing one of these trips this would be a great time to give it a whirl, and I'll buy the first round.

I'm already signed up, I hope we get enough folks to make it happen. The weather is looking good, 74 degrees saturday afternoon. Besides the OEX pros there are several other regulars from BWE, the fish would be nervous if they knew what was getting ready to hit them.

I'm already going, and with the looks of the line-up, we have the best fisherman in the kayak nation on this boat!

It is going to be one sweet trip! The weather is going to be perfect, and the fish are clueless as to what's about to hit 'em.

And I'll buy the second round just for incentive!

No kidding, we actually have #1 and #2, per the 2006 West Coast Whoppers contest, the real test.

No doubt, I'm looking forward to fishing with you. Maybe a little side wager seeing as you knocked me off the OEX board with that monster Yellow. Tacate is currency right

Matt and I will be there, hoping for a really great weekend of fishing.

That was a nice wsb you had. I'm in for any side wagers while I still feel incredibly lucky. And I'm bringing some Hornitos for shots.

I can't wait.

SCI is an awesome place to fish.

I don't know about all the OEX Pros talk...

but I know we just need a 'lil luck... to make that day the one to remember.

We need a few more people to sign up.

extra cashish

Hey if we all split the last person money wise it is probably less than 20 bucks each and I am more than willing to pay that for an uncrowded fishing site!

Matt

If you guys are willing to pay for that last spot... I am willing to use it so your money doesnt go to waste... er cough, ehhhh yeah, ok I tried...

Actually that is a good idea to split the spot... !

But.......Hope this happens, if anyone is thinking of taking this trip, you should sign up! I look at several message boards from just north of SD, to across the nation, and worldwide. (during work ) There is nothing like this operation anywhere for kayak fishermen, and it is the envy! This is a unique opportunity, hate to see it not be here... If you are a newbie, no worries, this is almost easier, no surf launch. The last trip a few weeks ago, there were several guys who had never been on a kayak! This is a great friendly crew!

Tight lines,

Chris

One of the party boats reports 50+ yellows for 6 anglers today from SCI. Should be a fun trip for you guys.

Doesn't that exceed limits?

Limit is 10 yt. 5 have to be over a certain length. Plus on party boats they often hit "crew limits" also. Sometimes a party boat even releases fish when they go over limits.

The regs make more sense to me now. I remember reading it last September
(when I started) and didn't understand it for some reason.

It looks like the limit is 10, with 5 having a minimum fork length of 24 inches.

Image getting limits on a yak. That'd be quite a workout.

yeah we can just split the cost of the last spot if it comes down to it.. make sure the higher knows this so they don't cancel the trip!!

Well, I'm not sure what the "go" - "No go" number is, but I do know we are short... I am told we are going (Just spoke to Bret at 4:45). I also know we are 12 anglers. Not sure if we are short 1 or 4 anglers. I do know 4 anglers canceled.

So let's get together tomorrow night and talk about what we can do to make things a little happier for the crew. A happy crew can make happy Yak fishermen. A Jackson per head and some change would make up one missing angler.

Just my 2,208 cents

So let's - - .. already

Later...
